A little history
Biscayne Bay shaped Miami long before the city existed; the Tequesta people lived along its shores for centuries. Biscayne Boulevard, laid out in the 1920s land boom, became one of Miami's main streets and remains a corridor of historic motels, neighborhoods and new development.
